Following a ward walkabout, surgery meetings and many letters and emails from residents about parking problems in parts of St. Ann’s Ward, David Lammy is conducting a survey to find out how they are being affected.
Residents have expressed concern that that the Haringey Council’s extension of the Green Lanes Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) is having a disproportionately restrictive effect on available parking spaces in roads adjacent to the zone.
In a letter to residents of the affected roads in St. Ann’s, David said:
“Whilst CPZs are helpful in benefiting some residents, it is clear that they create parking displacement problems for residents in roads which don’t have parking restrictions. I would like to find out how widespread these problems are for you in your road and to see whether the local council could be doing more to help.”
Clinton Road resident, David Davies said: “I am glad that David Lammy is working hard on the parking problem in this area. We need a solution soon, and we need it managed properly. I am pleased that Mr Lammy is playing an active part in putting things right”.
Residents can send their completed Parking Surveys to David by post, or can fill it in online.
