The title of this year's Tawney Memorial Lecture, which took place on the 17th March, was ‘Faith and Politics in the Modern World’. In it David Lammy MP and Minister for Culture considers how, despite predictions a decade ago that it was on the wane, faith is now back on the agenda as a force in both our personal lives and public debate.

For many faith has become a source of personal identity, affiliation and guidance, playing a central role in issues ranging from global politics to community cohesion.

David explores the role of faith in the modern world, charting its recent revival and identifying common challenges and opportunities in the coming years.

He draws upon his own experience of faith growing up, and how it shaped not only his progressive politics, but also the politics of the wider Labour Movement.
