A message from David Lammy

"In 2009 I filmed a series of discussions about fatherhood with men from the black community.

"These discussions were to inform a speech entitled ‘Black fatherhood in the 21st Century’, to be delivered at an event hosted by The Runnymede Trust on Monday 15th March 2010.

"The speech will be available after Monday here and highlights of the discussions can be seen on these short video clips.

"As well as informing my speech, I am hoping that this work will start a new conversation about fatherhood in the black community, give people the chance to speak for themselves and to think about the best opportunity to help and support themselves and others.
