EU Withdrawal Bill - standing up for human rights

I am deeply disappointed that last night (21st November), the Government voted down Amendment 46 to the EU Withdrawal Bill, which would have removed the exclusion of the Charter of Fundamental Rights from the EU law that we retain in UK law post-Brexit.

As I said in Parliament:

When there are still children in the world being trafficked, used as child soldiers and forced into slavery it is an abhorrence that our Government will send a message that we can do away with rights that we fought for in the UN Declaration of Human Rights after WWII.
