General Election result
I am absolutely delighted with the election result in Tottenham and I am very proud to be re-elected as Member of Parliament for Tottenham for the sixth time.
- 40, 249 votes (+11,595)
- 81.6% of votes cast (+14.3%)
- Majority of 34,584 (11,020)
- Swing of 7.4% to Labour
- 49,339 turnout (+7.6%)
The result is a record for Tottenham, an outstanding result and testament to the hard work of local Labour Party members both during the General Election campaign itself and in recent years. I am particularly pleased that turnout increased by 7.6%, with almost 7,000 people turning out to vote than in 2015, with thousands of younger people in Tottenham turning out to vote for the first time.
