Haringey Stand up to Racism

Last night (28th February) I spoke at a rally for Haringey Stand up to Racism alongside anti-racism activists and representatives from the local Muslim community.

I spoke about the racist abuse that I have received since the EU referendum last year as well as the racist behaviour and spike in hate crime that we have seen since last June.

I stressed that whilst some people have seen the Brexit vote and the election of Donald Trump as legitimising racist and xenophobic attitudes, we all have a duty to call out and stand up to racism wherever we find it and meet the forces of hatred and intolerance head on.
