Brexit debate speech
On Wednesday 7th December Parliament voted on an Opposition Day debate motion on Brexit. Whilst I do agree that the Government must publish a substantive Brexit plan well ahead of any moves to trigger Article 50, I voted against the motion because it gave Theresa May a blank cheque to trigger Article 50 in March 2017.
I set out the reasons behind this decision to oppose the motion in my speech during the debate, which you can watch in full here.
Due to time constraints I was not able to say everything that I wished to say, so I have published my speech in full on my Facebook page here.
You can also read my speech, and the debate in full, on Hansard here.
