On Saturday 29th October I was delighted to attend the Haringey Youth Festival and speak to 150 young people about the wonderful work they are doing in creative arts in Haringey. The young people involved in the festival set such a wonderful example to young people in Haringey and throughout London.
The festival featured fantastic performances from Jackson’s Lane Theatre, Haringey Shed, Highgate Theatre, ZIVA Youth Dance, Streetz Ahead, Mountview Theatre School, Project 7 and North London School of Performing Arts. I was so impressed by these talented young people and I am very proud to be a Patron of the Haringey Shed which does so much fantastic work in our community.
A big thank you to the NCS Challenge, the National Youth Theatre, Project 7, and the cast of Wicked the Musical for their contributions both to the festival and to the “Somewhere To” project - and also many thanks to Northumberland Park Community School in Tottenham for kindly hosting the festival. I look forward to seeing what next year’s festival brings!
