On Tuesday I chaired a meeting of the Fatherhood All-Party Parliamentary Group. The meeting focused on reviewing the findings of research into male role models and the impact of young fatherhood on men later in life.
Speakers included Dr Martin Robb, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Social Care at The Open University, Brigid Featherone, Professor of Social Work at the University of Huddersfield and Elina Einio, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Helsinki.
The meeting was packed with researchers, campaigners and experts in fatherhood policy and the Group continues to go from strength to strength. The Group’s priority in the coming months will be to highlight the importance of active and responsible fatherhood in the lead up to Father’s Day in June.
