Primary care in Tottenham

March 1, 2016

Following the adjournment debate that I called in the House of Commons on 16 December 2015, during which I asked the Minister for Community and Social Care Alistair Burt to urge NHS England to take a greater interest in the provision of primary care in Tottenham, I met with representatives of NHS England to discuss how they will be addressing problems with funding and GP access in Tottenham and plans for a proposed new surgery. I have strongly pushed them to take action in this area and will continue to put pressure on them to do so.

One point of note is that expectant mothers who have not registered with a GP are still able to access ante-natal facilities and care at the hospital by self-referring, and I am keen for constituents to be aware of this.
