I attended the launch of ground-breaking research by Breast Cancer Care on existing services to support BAME Women whilst going through cancer treatment. Until now, little research has been undertaken into the needs of BAME women in breast cancer survivorship. This means there is little understanding of what support these groups require to be able to self-manage and live well. In partnership with the Black Health Initiative, Kings College London and National Lottery funding, the organisation has put the medical profession in a better position for better BAME Breast Cancer care in the future. I will continue to take a keen interest to what services our health service can provide to mean it is best suited to the needs of the BAME community.
