On Tuesday 18th April I wrote to the Culture Minister Matt Hancock MP about diversity in broadcasting. Last year I led a successful campaign for the inclusion of a commitment to representing the diversity of the UK in the BBC Charter. On 6th April, I wrote a letter to Rob Wilson MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Civil Society, regarding the 'Tampon Tax' Fund donations made to Life - an organisation that opposes abortion and women's right to choose.. I voted to abolish the 'Tampon Tax' altogether when it was brought to a vote in Parliament in 2015. Last Thursday (30th March) I was delighted to be invited to open Ambitious College - London's first specialist day college for young people with autism, alongside Minister for Vulnerable Children and Families Edward Timpson MP, Mayor of Haringey Ali Gul Ozbek and Deputy Mayor of London Joanne McCartney AM.
