I had the pleasure of joining with many local residents marking the Macmillan event in Tottenham Leisure Centre. Macmillan is an extremely important charity to many people in the constituency who depend on the organisation for support or care during or after a cancer diagnosis. I strongly support the charity and was pleased to be able to speak to some of the many people who turned out to this delicious, cake-filled fundraising event!
I was delighted to attend a UK Music event at the New River Studios in September, facilities funded by a leading record label to inspire musical creativity in the young people of Tottenham. The event was aimed at giving careers advice for aspiring young music industry professionals and I hope the workshop filled day gave invaluable advice to those who attended.
I recently attended a memorial service for a dear friend of mine, Paul Head, who sadly passed away last year after suffering from a long term illness. Paul worked tirelessly in the further education sector since 2001 and was one of the most outstanding public servants that I have worked with during my 15 years as a Member of Parliament. Paul did outstanding work in violent extremism and gangs. His work will continue throughout Tottenham and we should be ever grateful for Paul
