On 24 June I joined students from all over London, including Tottenham, to call on the Supreme Court to defend the right to an education for university students in Britain with discretionary leave to remain. In 2012, the government made these children ineligible for student loans, and allowed universities to charge them international fees. That change meant young people who have lived here most of their lives and attended British schools are faced with sometimes insurmountabl
I was pleased to meet a group of constituents on 15 June in Westminster Hall. They came to Parliament to lobby for action to address climate change. We had a compelling discussion on the steps the new Government ought to take to protect our environment and on what I can do as an Opposition MP. I always appreciate when Tottenham residents take such an active role in advocacy and I thank everyone who came for their comments.
