On Wednesday, David met with Ann Keen MP, the Minister responsible for Cancer Services, to ensure that symptom awareness of ovarian cancer is a core part of the Government’s new ‘National Awareness and Early Detection Initiative’, which forms part of the new Cancer Reform Strategy published
David was joined by Sharon Hodgson MP (Washington E and Gateshead) – ovarian cancer’s champion on the back benches, as well as senior Department of Health officials.
After the very productive meeting, Annwen Jones, Chief Executive of Ovarian Cancer Action, said:
“David understands the urgency of getting ovarian cancer symptoms recognised. We are delighted that our message was heard loud and clear.”
