| Campaigning with Siobhain McDonagh MP in Mitcham and Morden. |

On Sunday, Tottenham MP David Lammy went South of the River to join his Labour Parliamentary colleague Siobhain McDonagh, MP Mitcham and Morden, for a campaigning session with local councillors and Labour Mayor of Merton ahead of the GLA and London Mayoral Elections in May.
The response on doorsteps in Merton’s Graveney Ward was very positive indeed, and many residents were pleased to be able to discuss both local concerns with their local MP and councillors, and also national learning and education issues with Skills Minister David Lammy. Both MPs also talked about London-wide issues with Graveney residents.
David Lammy said:
‘Just like my own Labour Party in Tottenham, Mitcham and Morden is a CLP (Constituency Labour Party) which looks and feels like the London I know and love: people of all backgrounds and ethnicities, both young and more experienced, all of whom share a passion for improving the lives of local people.
“Mitcham and Morden are also lucky to have one of London’s best campaigners as their MP – many of us could learn from the hard work and energy that Siobhain puts into campaigning, and the enthusiasm it gives to the councillors and activists. You can really feel it reflecting back in the positive response we got on people’s doorsteps.”
