How You Can Help Tottenham

The community response to the disturbances has been superb in the last fortnight. The local community, as well as those from further afield, have really come together to help those affected in Tottenham:

·      Public donations to the Mayor's Tottenham Fund have so far raised £23,000

·      Tottenham Choir have launched an effort to hold a Benefit Gig for Tottenham. For updates on their progress please see their Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/TottenhamGig

·      The Community Assistance Centre that was set up at the Tottenham Green Leisure Centre was so overwhelmed by the generosity of local people and businesses that they are now no longer asking for donations for those affected.

If you wish to give financial donations, a fund has been set up by Haringey Council to help local residents and business affected. Cheques made payable to ‘Mayor’s Charity – Tottenham Fund’ can be sent to London Borough of Haringey, PO Box 55235, London, N22 9DF. Alternatively payments can be sent direct to the bank in a branch or by e-banking:
Payee: Mayor’s Charity – Tottenham Fund
         Sort Code: 60-24-23
         Account number: 90724828
The fund is being managed through the Mayor of Haringey’s charity account so all donations are kept separate from the council’s own finances.
