| David visits the Kurdish Centre in Hornsey |
| Wednesday, 17 February 2010 |
Yesterday, 16th February, David Lammy visited the Kurdish Centre in Hornsey to discuss, among other things, the problem of Turkish and Kurdish organised crime that has gripped the North London community with fear for the last year.
David listened to the concerns of group members about Police interaction with the centre, and how the Police would rely on the centre for information, but then not communicate the progress of the case nor stimulate any form of trust between themselves and the community.
David has intervened several times on the issue - most recently in writing an article for the Evening Standard and attending a high-level meeting in Hackney on the turf war currently being waged between two rival Turkish and Kurdish gangs.
