Constituency Week Feburary 2010

Last Week, beginning on the 15th February, David used the Parliamentary Recess to spend a week touring the various communities, charities and businesses that form the heart of Tottenham.

Over the course of the week, David attended 27 different events, speaking to over 1,000 different people and delivering 5 speeches.

• Opened the newly renovated Muswell Hill Youth Centre
• Visited Park View Academy and the West Green Learning Centre
• Met with a group of Tottenham Pensioners at the Bell Brewery
• Visited the Turkish/Kurdish Community Centre in Bruce Grove
• Held a walkabout with local Labour activists in Bruce Grove
• Visited the building site where a new Coombes Croft Library will stand
• Met with the Young Advisors at the Northumberland Park Resource Centre
• Met with the Turkish Cypriot Women's Group
• Interviewed by ARM, the Turkish Women's Magazine
• Visited the Kurdish Advice Centre
• Visited the Bruce Grove Youth Centre
• Visited the Triangle Children's Centre near Seven Sisters
  
• Held a community drop-in Coffee Morning in a Church on St. Ann's Ward
• Visited Catch 22 in Bruce Grove
• Met the Turkish Cypriot Association on Green Lanes
• Visited a Winter Shelter for the Homeless at the Church of Destiny on Tottenham High Road
• Met with Haring Carers Association
• Spoke and handed out Diana Awards at M-Power in Markfield near Tottenham Hale
• Spoke at Somali Achievement Day Event in Northumberland Park
• Visited Pensioners in Campbell Court, Sheltered Housing near White Hart Lane
• Toured Broadwater Farm Estate with West Green Neighbourhood Police
• Visited the Wood Green Mosque and met the new Imam
• Held a Coffee Morning with residents of the Edgecot Grove Estate in Seven Sisters
• Met with Quentin Given, head of Haringey Friends of the Earth.
• Attended mass for various communities at St. Ignatius Catholic Church
  
• Held an advice surgery for Tottenham residents at CONEL 

David said:
